Located in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River, the Hoover Dam is the highest structure of its kind in the world. It is an outstanding achievement, noteworthy not only for its enormous dimensions, complex design and intricate construction, but also for its illustration of man's ability to overcome the desert's summer sun, the vagaries of a treacherous river, and the extreme hazards of great heights on the chasm's sheer walls. This tour takes you to locations overlooking Lake Mead, the world's largest man-made lake and to the eastern edge of the chasm in Arizona where you have incredible views of the dam and Lake Mead. You will also have the opportunity to tour the inside of the dam and its fascinating power plant area. Then we take a remote 4x4 trail, on the Arizona side, down to Lake Mead for unbelievable views.

Then…Wow! That about covers your range of emotions when you first see Hoover Dam where we will spend two hours for touring and picture taking. Walk along the top of the Dam and stand with one foot in Arizona & the other in Nevada, see the Colorado River on one side & Lake Mead on the other.

While at the Hoover Dam we suggest taking the Bureau of Reclamation \"Discovery Tour,\" which includes entrance to the Multi-million dollar Tour center, the movie on the dam’s construction, museum and exhibit gallery. Informational talks by Bureau of Reclamation guide staff are presented at a number of separate strategic locations.
